Bective Technical Services scope of work included a fully managed search, selection and payroll management contract for:
The Site Project Management Team including Site Manager, Safety Supervision, Workforce Trainers, Underground Supervision ,Project Controls, Procurement and Administration personal for Bergteamet Raiseboring Europe for a vertical fresh air ventilation shaft, 848-meter x 4.00-meter diameter.
The project set a new record for the deepest raisebored hole, with 848 metres drilled in one draw!. The equipment used was Atlas Copco Robbins 91RH-C, reamerhead RXL and MVKC6-cutters, and the average speed was 0.88 meters per hour. Hitting the right access point 848 meters below ground with a margin of error of 0.17 percent.
Additionally Bective provided a team of certified and skilled operators with proficiency in the operation of underground Loaders (LHD’s) up to 17 tonne and mine trucks up to 60 tonne, for the mucking and trucking of over 30,000 of waste materials that was placed as backfill in open stopes.
The project was executed at Boliden Tara Mines zinc and lead mine near Navan, County Meath, Ireland. The orebody lies at a depth of 1,000 metres below the surface in carbonate-hosted lead-zinc ore deposits. It is the largest zinc mine in Europe and the ninth largest in the world producing aapproximately 2.6 million tonnes of ore of which 200,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 40,000 tonnes of lead concentrate are produced annually.
